The Little Squirrel's
First Autumn
This is a bilingual episodic picture book that follows the Little squirrel’s journey from the city to her grandmother’s house in the forest, for the Great Autumn Festival. Using a unique 'word-a-day' structure inspired by the 2024 SCBWI Artober challenge, the story introduces young readers to 31 key vocabulary words in both English and Spanish. As Little Squirrel navigates anticipation, wonder, and the fear of the unknown, the book celebrates family traditions and courage beyond appearances. This project combines seasonal appeal with a strong language-learning hook for early readers.
