Nicole Álvarez is a Latin American illustrator and member of SCBWI.
She studied Digital Illustration (DUOC UC, Chile) and later pursued an Educational degree in Visual Arts (Universidad Los Leones, Chile), driven by her desire to share the joy of making art with others. For ten years, she imparted Art lessons at a vulnerable Chilean school and supported learning at a Special Needs school (SEND) in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK.
Currently, she works as a full-time illustrator for publishing houses, magazines, organizations, and companies.
She is drawn to Kidlit illustration projects, picture books, and licencing. Her illustrations aim to bring peace, hope and joy. She loves to draw animals, nature, and illustrations about her Christian beliefs. She is a deep admirer of the work of Beatrix Potter, Shaun Tan, David Wiesner, and Sha'an d'Anthes (Furry Little Peach).
